List of Moving Tips That You Need to Know Before Moving

With nearly a decade of moving experience we learned a few things over the years. Here is a list we complied of moving tips to help you out on your next move!

Moving doesn't have to be stressful. Here are some tips to help speed up the process for you and your movers.

- Before you pack up everything, make sure there isn't anything you would like to donate. Moving is a great time to donate old clothes or furniture. The less stuff you have to pack, the less stuff you have to unpack. Remember that there are lot of people in the world who don't have enough, so anything that you do not use often or at all, can be useful to others.

- Remove mirrors and artwork from off the walls. This make sure you don't forget anything still attached to the wall and this way the movers get a head start on wrapping your mirrors so they won't break. Fragile things need extra care, so putting it on the floor carefully, but standing up, is advised.

- Keep pets in a crate or in a room that is not being used. Pets and movers are not getting along very well, and movers can be extremely annoying to pets. This will keep both your pet and the movers safe.

- Make sure your boxes are all packed. If the movers can quickly put your boxes in the moving truck than they could use the added space(that your boxes took up) to easily maneuver large pieces of furniture. Make sure that boxes are full, but to do not have too much weight, you do not want it to break and ruin hours of your work.

- Please take your valuables with you. Wallet, passport, identifications, any portable electronic devices and laptop. Movers are generally honest people, but you never know, so it is better to avoid risk than to take it.

- Pack an overnight bag filled with any medications, toiletries, pajamas, bedding and some clothes. Anything you may need for the next day. You won't finish packing in one day usually so you should at least be comfortable. And it always can happen that something goes wrong and you want to be ready for that kind of situation in which you need to hang on for a few days.

- Seal up drawers with plastic wrap if you do not feel like unpacking them.

- Request wardrobe boxes(boxes with a metal rod on top) to easily hang hanging clothes or coats. Some of the movers will do this for you by default, but it is always better to ask for every case.
