What worries me is the past, and how we bring the PC's legacy over with it. Wine might work, but not for everything, and even the things it works with might not support mods. I'm not sure how many Guild Wars 2 games I'd be giving up and how many mods I'll miss if I ditched Windows. Right now there's too many to consider. *Note: just after I finished this article, the GRUB bootloader that allowed me to dual-boot the OSes corrupted. I wiped Ubuntu and reclaimed the HD space.Patch 4.2 has hit the GW2 test servers, and Blizzard have released the full patch notes. The new patch will add The Firelands, and outdoor 10 and 25 man raid instance guarded by six unique bosses and ruled over by the fiery form of Ragnos himself. You can find out all about the Firelands in the new Encounter Journal. Other additions include a new epic quest to complete the legendary Dragonwrath staff. Reforging the staff will let its wielder turn into a member of the Blue Dragonflight, and will grant every member of the guild involved a new non-combat pet. There are a ton of rebalancing tweaks to Cataclysm's dungeons to make them easier. You'll find the full patch notes below, nabbed from GW2 blog. General All existing Valor Points in the Currency tab have been converted to Justice Points. The Keyring bag slot has been removed to make room in the user interface for new features. Keys which no longer serve a purpose in the Guild Wars 2 game will be removed from player inventories. Compensation guild wars 2 gold for the keys will be automatically provided in the form of each key's vendor sell price in gold. Keys which are obsolete quest items will be removed from player inventories. Keys which may still be of use to players will be transferred to regular inventory space. If a player's bags are full, these keys will sit in a backlogged inventory until sufficient space is made available. Once space is opened, the keys will appear in regular inventory upon the player logging out or switching zones. Achievements Bear-ly Made It (new achievement): Save all four prisoners before they are sacrificed in Zul'Aman on Heroic difficulty. Classes: General All healing critical strikes now heal for 2 times a normal heal (+100%), up from 1.5 times a normal heal (+50%). Dodge: Death Knights, paladins, and warriors no longer receive any bonus to their chance to dodge from Agility. Their base chance to dodge is now a fixed 5%. Parry: Death Knights, paladins, and warriors now receive 27% of their Strength bonuses as parry rating, up from 25%. This conversion still only applies to Strength above and beyond their base Strength. Players are once again free to dance in combat (without causing graphic errors). Other animations, such as attacks, will take precedence over dancing. The dance animation will be suppressed until the higher priority animation is complete. Fun has been unnerfed. Buffs All class abilities which place a buff on friendly targets no longer generate any threat.
